NewsJanuary Open House and Free Uniform PromotionJanuary 28, 2012 - On Saturday, January 28th from 10:30am until 2:00pm ICKF Karate School will be holding an Open House. Feel free to swing by and check out our Dojo and view one of our fantastic classes. Feel free to set up a trial class and you can register at any time. As a special promotion any new students who register in January will receive a free uniform. ICKF at the Canadian National ChampionshipsMarch 20, 2011 - Karate Canada hosts the National Karate Championships (recognized by Sport Canada) which are held annually in a different province each year. Each province sends a team made up of only the top two athletes from each elite division. This year ICKF qualified four of our students to the Ontario team which competed at the Nationals between March 18 and 20 in Saint Hyacinthe, Quebec. We are very happy to announce that each of the ICKF students had great performances with each student earning a National medal (results below). Congratualtions to these athletes who worked very hard to be on the National podium. ICKF Results: Marika Gumienny won Bronze in 14-15 female -54kg kumite and Bronze in 14-15 female team kumite. Dylan Creany won Bronze in 16-17 male -68kg kumite. Jonathan Kondziolka won Silver in 14-15 male team kumite. Chris Burke won Silver in 18-20 male +78kg kumite and Bronze in Men's +84kg kumite. Thinking of Joining ICKF in September?Sept 1, 2010 - Starting a new activity in September is always fun. If you are thinking about joining ICKF this September we have some fun things planned. On Saturday September 25th ICKF will be hosting an open house which is a great opportunity for people to drop in and check out our excellent classes. As a special September promotion any new member that joins before the end of September will receive a free uniform. Potential new students are always welcome to try a class. Ask Sensei for details. ICKF Karate School Celebrates 10th AnniversaryMay 1, 2010 - ICKF Karate School was established in January 2000 teaching traditional Chito Ryu Karate Do to our community. In 2002 we moved into our full time facility at 2100 Forbes. ICKF has students of all ages training and enjoying the benefits that Chito Ryu Karate brings. On Saturday May 1st 2010, ICKF celebrated its 10 th anniversary with a special demonstration which was held at Father Austin C.S.S. ICKF members of all ages took to the stage demonstrating their skills to an audience of over 400 spectators. This was a great Day in the history of our Dojo and it was great to get everyone involved. We would like to thank all of the volunteers who helped out and we look forward to the next Decade of ICKF Karate School.
